Hilltop Park is part of a new housing development and hopefully will pave the way for the future of public open spaces.

The Growling Grass Frog project has been designed by staff at Whittlesea City Council. One quarter of a hectare has been scraped to remove weeds and excess nutrients, and then direct seeded with local native grass and wildflower seed. The area has been fenced to exclude rabbits and the large Kangaroo population. Two other exclosures have been erected and Flora Victoria will be using various methods of weed control to deplete annual and perennial weeds.

The Valley View Crescent Batter in Sunbury was sown with Danthonia under jute mat about three years ago. After vandals burned the jute mat soon after planting, the site has been left without maintenance.

At Mandalay Golf Course we have already sown the roughs for holes one and nine with Wallaby grass. Future holes will include other native grass species, and possibly some wildflowers
