Native Grass Hay for Sale
Every summer we cut and bale our crops. This year we have our native grass hay in small round bales rather than square bales. Although these round bales are much larger and heavier, we find they are easier to move than square bales because they can be rolled.
Our native grass bales are free of weeds and can be used as stock feed, for mulching or for thatching. Our Wallaby Grass has been popular as horse feed. Other hay like Kangaroo Grass (Themeda triandra), Long Haired Plume Grass (Dichelachne crinita), Red Leg Grass (Bothriochloa macra) and Silky Blue Grass (Dicanthium sericeum) was harvested with some seed still on the plants, so are suitable for thatching. Common Tussock Grass (Poa labillardieri) hay is also available.
